Bad Google Chrome!

OK, I thought I was going to like Google Chrome. But it appears that they have a lot of work to do before it becomes real big.

Sure, it has a lot of good features; such as stability, and definitely reliability. But, it also lacks a few big things that make browsers what they are today. As far as I can tell, it doesn’t have an RSS reader. Whenever I try to load the RSS for my page, all it shows is a bunh of blotched text. (Very simple HTML text)

Which is something a lot of people use on a browser these days. I know I love Firefox’s RSS reader… It does wonders, looks nice, and works very well. Google Chrome also has a problem loading certain pages. Pages that honestly, are not even that big of an issue, but it has problems loading them. My page has failed quite a few times on Google Chrome, and only google chrome. Sometimes Microsoft’s site will fail on me, but that could just be because Microsoft is big on pushing IE. I did notice that Apple’s site would crash out, which doesn’t make too much sense because the WebKit engine is used in Safari, which is what Google Chrome comes up as far as User-Agents go.

Who knows, I do like how simple it looks and feels, but they seemed to have forgotten quite of few tweaks & add-ons here and there that most people really look for/need in a browser.

I don’t necessarily give it two thumbs down, but I don’t think it is going to surpass Firefox anytime soon. Definitely Internet Explorer, but not firefox.

MFDB TV & Halloween

First of all, have you checked out my YouTube account lately?

Rather than being called “Mountain Fives” (although, that is what the link still is, the channel is now called MFDB TV. (Matt Fowler dot Business Television)

I am not going to promise that I’ll update it all the time, but I am going to start putting up random videos of myself either ranting, reviewing something, or just me being me.

Also,
Since halloween is next month — I figured I’d make a little game on PictoGame.com
Enjoy–>

My Impression of Death Magnetic II

Well, in three more days the CD will finally be here. After five years of waiting, the ninth studio album by Metallica. Earlier in a post I wrote about “My Impression” of Death Magnetic. With being like every good little fan, I signed up for MissionMetallica.com and had been following the progress since May 1st.

Anyways, it turns out I’m not the good little fan I put myself up to be. At least, I’ve already heard Death Magnetic. Excuse me, but I couldn’t wait any longer. I’m a die-hard fan and the torment of the waiting was too much. It was too easy for me to get Death Magnetic. (I actually nabbed it thanks to Playlist.com — so blame them, not me)

But, yeah, I’ve listened to all the songs thoroughly and I’m pleased. If you didn’t hear it when it leaked onto YouTube thanks to a French CD Store, then you are going to be blown away by it when it drops Friday. Unforgiven III, I tell you, is really something. Not like the other Unforgivens, but that’s all I’m going to say.

And if you are like me, and wanting the full meal of Death Magnetic, then go to playlist.com. Don’t be ashamed, if nothing else just stream it. Then it just looks like an upload from your provider, not a download. (Yes, I realize it doesn’t actually upload it still downloads a temp file. Then make yourself aquainted with CCleaner.)

Good job Metallica, can’t wait to see you November 17th.

Google Chrome

Google finally did it. They released a browser. We all knew it would come one day.

Technically, It’s still in Beta, but what has Google released that doesn’t stay in Beta for about two years?

It’s basically the Safari engine, WebKit, with a Google feel.

And I’ll admit.. It’s nice. You need to grab you a copy.

http://www.google.com/chrome

Good things about this browser:
 It’s Open Source
 It’s Free
 It’s Not a Memory Hog
 It’s Secure
 Has Private Browsing
  And many other features,
just check it out.

 – But: Firefox is still good, but so far Google is bumping up past it.

(I also downloaded IE 8 Beta, but that’s not important)
