Early Morning

So I am thinking… As I sit here with access to my blog via Blackberry…..why not go off into blog land for a little bit? When is the last time I did that? January, it seems to be. What do you know about that?

Sun is coming up, sky looks a light blue with a few cloud strands here and there. Not that it really matters to you, but that’s what I see so you get to know it as well.

I am starting to recommend Sponsored Tweets more and more. Maybe after my next payout we will talk about how strong I like them. Probably need to get a referral link. Oh well.

Getting brighter outside, bunch of birds chirping. Few ducks making noises too. I am waiting for the Fountain to turn back on….Awww, there are no ducks on the fountain. If there was, I’d get another possible chance to see the Fountain hit the ducks. But they are smart, or they hear some sort of something below them kick on, because I have seen them jump off it within minutes of it turning on.

Well, I don’t guess the fountain is going to turn on while I’m writing this. Typing, rather — you get the point.

Bored with this…

Pajama Pants in Space Update

It’s been a little while since I’ve reported anything, especially Pajama Pants in Space. The all-genre band by yours truly. Awhile back, you may remember me mentioning a PPIS website. Well, that day is finally no longer a myth. You can check it out here: http://www.mattfowler.biz/ppis

Yes, I know, not real fancy just linking off of my site. But, I figure this will be a good place to at least start a site. The band isn’t popular enough just yet for me to purchase a domain name for it. Though, this may happen in the near future. Just be watching out.

Other good news, Internet Explorer 8 apparently has something against me. Or Microsoft… Pretty much, when running this new feature “compatibility mode” my site crashes. Displays a connecton error. On Vista and XP Users.  Have no idea why. I have contacted Microsoft and heard nothing back. My host says its nothing on their end.

I sent an email to the designer of the layout for my site, and still waiting for their reply. I am hoping it is just a simple scripting problem I am overlooking.

Other than that, everything is going good and I am  done typing..

Powermat?

Anybody heard anything about Powermats? I mean I understand that it is something inside the back panels that connects wirelessly to the mat.  Something tells me it’s not safe. Could be wrong.

Little pricey, but I guess it’s a little worth it.

$99.99 Powermat Portable Recharging Mat.
Target or Best Buy

$29.99 iPhone or iPod Touch “receivers”

And $29.99 for a DS too! Yeah!
It sounds great, but it just almost seems like something that would either get your phone hot — and you know the problems that follow that. And then maybe it would screw up the charging system. Maybe thinking that it is fully charged when it’s not. I do know that when you have a constant WiFi connection the battery power is pleh (new word) on phones. Does just fine on iPhone/iPod Touch and DS. :D

Hurrah! I hope it’s legit and non damaging…because…I want it.
It will make my blackberry, however, even less pocket friendly. Sadness on a silver platter.

I want one but I just wonder how legit they are. Not that it’s a scam, but maybe. Give it some thought at least.

Let me know what you think.

Stride Gum: You have an enemy!

You may be long lasting, but there is still one thing out there that complete knocks out the flavor at one try! That my friends, is cigarettes.

Some of you are probably thinking (Well DUHHH), but I am just happy to have found one killer of this extreme long lasting flavorful gum.

So ha!

My Impression of Death Magnetic…So Far

Well, I could tell you every little aspect that I’ve heard of Death Magnetic from MissionMetallica.com; but i’m not like that.

I’m going to just write a little blurb about the two songs that have been released to the public in the past few days.

Cyanide: I really like this song, I love the way they throw in the bass. They really let Rob hold a strong part in this new album. It’s heavy, it’s got a nice break down, and it’s James’ old voice. What else can you say about this song other than awesome? The music on this song is phenomenal, I really love the way they arranged it. They have a powerful beginning, exciting break down, a powerful solo,  and an elusive yet ever-recurring chorus to finish it off. I also really like the lyrics. “Suicide, I’ve already died, it’s just the funeral I’ve been waiting for. Cyanide, feeling dead inside, break this empty shell forevermore.” It’s just amazing.

This one was first released live at Ozzfest in Dallas, TX.  Premium Mission Metallica members were able to download the whole entire show. (Which also included an awesome Mercyful Fate rendition with King Diamond singing)

Though most people aren’t big fans of songs that clock in anywhere from 7 to 8 minutes, I enjoy it. Especially when it’s a Metallica song. They always keep me entertained.

The Day That Never Comes: I first heard this song when I streamed it off of MissionMetallica.com, then I saw where they were letting Premium users download it, so I couldn’t resist. From what I understand, this was their competition/sequel to the 1991 hit “One”. The song starts out slow, just like One, then takes a quick jump into what Metallica really is. With the solos sounding just as amazing as they did on “…And Justice for All” (I’m talking about the whole Album!) Then towards the end once the lyrics have all been said it gets heavy, and I mean really heavy. I was telling people “Slayer” heavy, but it’s not that intense. It’s about as heavy as if Metallica covered Raining Blood. OK, I’m not very good at describing levels of heavy-ness, just listen to it on the radio. Be looking for the video coming out soon. (I’m hitting YouTube up every day in anticipation) Also, just like Cyanide, the lyrics in this song are outstanding. Though I don’t know for sure what the song means just yet, I’m guessing it has to do with a woman who gets beaten and she’s waiting for the day for the guy to be punished, or for her to find a man that  isn’t like her previous ones. (In other words, a good man minus the beatings)

Although I could probably write an entire short story on my impression of Death Magnetic so far, I just wanted to touch on the two songs that have been released to the public. Be sure and nab a copy of Death Magnetic in stores everywhere September 12th. Or sign up for MissionMetallica.com premium and get the CD delivered to your house at 12:01 midnight.

Wow!

I was shocked when I checked AwStats last night. I’m usually not one of those people who really cares how many people go to my site, because I honestly thought that I only had a small group. Well, I did when I first started with this site.. I remember back in 2004 when the domain was first purchased and there was just a place holder, I would get about 1-2 hits a day, averaging about 40 hits per month. That seemed good for me, considering that nobody knew about my site other than the people I had told.

I guess when you have a site for 4 years things really do catch on. I looked at AwStats and my daily hits (average) were anywhere from 2000-4000…DAILY! That’s pretty good for a personal site! Then I looked at Mointhly averages and it ranges anywhere from 6500-10,000 visits a month. I’m not talkin about hits, I’m talking about Unique visitors… DAMN! I had no idea I was actually that popular.

But my only question is this: I have so many visitors, yet nobody ever comments what I write on here. I guess people come here, read it- and they are done. I wonder if I stupidly have it set up to where you have to create an account to post a comment. I’m pretty sure I don’t, though. Then again, doing that stops spammers. (Though I still get a few spam comments that I have to deny every once in awhile — you know the ones I’m talking about. They use you for your trackbacks.)

That was one thing that concerned me – are all these hits Spammers? — But AwStats is fully functional and tells me where they came from, what browser, etc. And I don’t think they are all spammers. I think about 50-100 of the hits & visits are spammers, and the rest are real people looking at my site.

I’m touched, and if I could I’d thank everyone who visits my site, but since I don’t know them, I can’t. So I’ll just say it on here (just in case there are some reoccurring visitors!) THANKS!!

Ok, I’m done for now. I just wanted to share this newly discovered fact.

Oh, and if you don’t have AwStats for your page, you really need to get it. http://awstats.sourceforge.net/

Time waits for no one…not even me

Confused about the title? Look up the lyrics for “Time – The Beginning” by Megadeth. Located on the Risk album.

Been awhile since Brick Hill Publishing has seen a new face, but I figured since I completely upgraded my site it was about time I upgraded BHP. I took about a week out to work on it, and I’m happy with the results. Everything is much more clean and straight forward. I designed it to where a 10 year old could log onto it and purchase a book if they wanted to. (And if they some how had a credit card…must have stole it out  of Mommy’s purse)

With new design comes a new logo. I think it is a lot better than the old one. I would show you the old logo, but it was disgraceful compared to this one. Check out archive.org if you really want to see what Brick Hill Publishing used to be. I believe you’ll find that I’ve out done myself this time around.

I also started messing with Dreamweaver’s Spry integration. I didn’t do a whole lot with Spry, but I did some nifty little effects like the Collapsible Content script.  You can see the results on the book pages and the contact page.  I also used it on the web version of the mail-in order sheet. Used it to verify CC#’s, phone numbers, etc.  — Just little things that I never thought about putting on the site until now.

Plus, the site actually looks like a business site again, rather than just a home made site that happens to sell things. Makes sense right?

Anywho, that is about all I’ve been up too lately – at least that’s all I’m going to report. Sure, I do random things every day. (Like get lost in Kentucky! But that’s another story)

Hey!

Sorry I haven’t wrote anything in awhile. Been kind of busy with work, life, and things revolving around the two.
One new thing in my internet life: My web host, Vizaweb, started offering RoundCube WebMail — and I love it! It’s so much better than SquirrelMail (though SquirrelMail still has a special place in my heart), and don’t even get me started on Horde.

UNIX junkies (and just plain nerds in general) will get what I’m talking about up there.

Anywho, I’m at work now. Nothing much going on. I have been really lazy with the internet lately. I don’t update my blog, I haven’t even went to my website in awhile. It’s not that I’m getting tired of it, I just don’t find myself with very much spare time to sit down and write anything. Now that I’m at work, and I have zero customers, I thought “why not post?”. So here I am.

Something that has really had my attention lately is MissionMetallica.com – Being an extreme Metallica fan that I am, I of course signed up and pre-ordered the CD. I also saw after I did so that Metallica is going to be coming out with a box set. (Found on blabbermouth)  The only thing that bothers me about this was that I did find it on blabbermouth. They are the same people who said James Hetfield was detained at an aiport because of his “taliban-like” beard. They are notorious for believing/starting rumors.

Is it sad when somebody brings a delivery (or something related to it) that I actually enjoy signing for it? I’d probably sign my life away just to get the thrill of signing something. I’ve always been one of those types who is obsessed with their signature. It’s nothing fancy, but it’s not easy to copy either.

I really wish WordPress had a plugin that would automatically add tags from the blog you just wrote. I hate making up my own tags. I forget what I’ve typed and/or I just don’t feel like scrolling up and highlighting some of the things I wrote. Not like my page gets enough traffic to worry about it though.

That is all for now, I’m tired of typing.

It’s Only One Post

I have always wanted to write a post that made little to no sense. So, sit down and prepare yourself for this one. I guarantee a bumpy ride awaits you. (So sit on something comfortable – in other words)

I really like the way the trees imitate birds yet nobody says anything.
Somebody needs to take care of the problem outside, I’d hate to see the cops right now
This isn’t funny (forgot my period up above but I’m too lazy to fix it..plus I’ve gone this far) it’s just retarted.Seriously!

Vista. Done with that topic

I want money, socks, and tacos. That seems like all you need right now, yeah pretty much.
Shower with the fans of Dethklok. Ok, don’t

System Time! Why doesn’t anybody ever use this font anymore? I’ve always liked this font because it has that old school computer yet trying to be modern look to it. I might just start typing in this font from now on. Here is the only flaw: I can’t remember exactly, but I don’t think Macs have this font. Or they may, and it just isn’t the same.

Don’t read too much into that, I still love Macs.

Alright, going back to system. ”
Random quote mark.  Don’t question it – that’s how I go by everyday.
