Am I the only one who has noticed that Google loves to give power features to those users who are popular or famous? Before you go all crazy on me, let me explain…

YouTube: This is the first one I feel disgruntled about. Ever heard of the term Partner? Of course you have, and hearing about it is all you will ever do unless you reach a high amount of views and subscribes. I think it would be in Google’s best interest if they allowed anyone to be a Partner. It would make them more money then it would us. So what if our videos were subpar? As long as somebody watched your videos, Google would make money. AND SO WOULD YOU. Hello? Failing Economy? It’s a NO BRAINER!

We would all like to be power users. Google could have a service for everyone called “Temp Partner” where everyone gets to feel the joy of being a YouTube Partner. If you didn’t keep up with your schedule, THEN you would be dropped from being a Partner. Badabing, Badaboom.

Google Plus: If you have a lot of people who have put you in their circles, you receive a plethora of new features as they roll out. The rest of us schoobies have to wait until they’ve been ran through the mud and boasted by big wigs. Screw us small wigs. We aren’t allowed to the party. The big one I’m focusing on is Hangouts On Air. Now Google Plus power users can stream their hangouts to YouTube for the world to see. The rest of us who want to do this have to download software, subscribe to a service, etc. It’s ridiculous how they treat us.

I could go on and on, but I will stop before I blow my stack.

Yes, I realize that if I really want to test out the new “Chrome OS” all I have to do is use Google Chrome. Well, I’m using that now. Check. But I wanted to see this “quick startup” in “8 seconds flat” with my own two eyes. And for the life of me I can’t find one to test. I’ve tried Best Buys all over, along with a lot of other big computer distributor companies, and nobody has a one. They can’t be web only, or are they?

I’d like your input on places to find one. I know Google recommends Tiger Direct, NewEgg, and some other company that escapes me.

If they really are online only, then that is a terrible marketing scheme. A lot of people (hence ME) like to try before you buy. I doubt Google plans on sending me one for a test run, but I’d be much appreciative if they did.

Thanks Google.

If you haven’t watched the addictive-ness that is Nyan Cat, go ahead and do that real quick. Ok, are you back? Now that you’ve witnessed that… did you notice anything different about the playback bar? Maybe this will help you remember:

Now, I’m sure the people behind this won’t do something like this to every video. However, when a video has close to 17 million views, it has to draw some San Bruno, CA attention. I hope that it’s not temporary, because I think it needs to stay. It’s just too great.

However, as long as it does last, we get to see the Nyan Cat farting out Rainbows and running in both space and now the playback bar.

Can’t recall if it was AT&T or Verizon who said that Google was “free loading” on their network.

In other words, using an extreme amount of bandwidth when “not necessary”

So now Google Instant has been launched. Adding to the suggested search queries catalog, Google now automatically loads popular searches as you type. A great feature indeed.

I Say: Great for Broadband Users, bad for Dial-up users.
But who uses Dial-Up anymore? Apparently there is still a 10% who do.

Also, this was very interesting:

By the time you try & search for this they may have already removed it, But I caught it.

I still love you Google, don’t feel bad.

OK, I thought I was going to like Google Chrome. But it appears that they have a lot of work to do before it becomes real big.

Sure, it has a lot of good features; such as stability, and definitely reliability. But, it also lacks a few big things that make browsers what they are today. As far as I can tell, it doesn’t have an RSS reader. Whenever I try to load the RSS for my page, all it shows is a bunh of blotched text. (Very simple HTML text)

Which is something a lot of people use on a browser these days. I know I love Firefox’s RSS reader… It does wonders, looks nice, and works very well. Google Chrome also has a problem loading certain pages. Pages that honestly, are not even that big of an issue, but it has problems loading them. My page has failed quite a few times on Google Chrome, and only google chrome. Sometimes Microsoft’s site will fail on me, but that could just be because Microsoft is big on pushing IE. I did notice that Apple’s site would crash out, which doesn’t make too much sense because the WebKit engine is used in Safari, which is what Google Chrome comes up as far as User-Agents go.

Who knows, I do like how simple it looks and feels, but they seemed to have forgotten quite of few tweaks & add-ons here and there that most people really look for/need in a browser.

I don’t necessarily give it two thumbs down, but I don’t think it is going to surpass Firefox anytime soon. Definitely Internet Explorer, but not firefox.

They released a browser. We all knew it would come one day.

Technically, It’s still in Beta, but what has Google released that doesn’t stay in Beta for about two years?

It’s basically the Safari engine, WebKit, with a Google feel.

And I’ll admit.. It’s nice. You need to grab you a copy.

http://www.google.com/chrome

Good things about this browser:
It’s Open Source
It’s Free
It’s Not a Memory Hog
It’s Secure
Has Private Browsing
And many other features, just check it out.

– But: Firefox is still good, but so far Google is bumping up past it.

(I also downloaded IE 8 Beta, but that’s not important)
