Ham Sandwich featuring Brandon Hardesty
Posted by Matt Fowler in Videos on September 9, 2011
On May 22nd of this year (2011), Brandon Hardesty released a short film on Atom that must have bypassed my internet eyes because it is absolutely hilarious! Directed by Dave Green, who I’ve never heard of, but must be a pretty funny guy because this film is hilarious.
It stars Brandon Hardesty, of YouTube fame, who plays an office intern who isn’t much respected around the water cooler. He wanders around town to discover a local sandwich shop ran by a very peculiar guy, and discovers this isn’t your ordinary ham sandwich from the local deli.
Enjoy…

Nyan Cat: Meet Nyan Bar
Posted by Matt Fowler in Everything on June 17, 2011
The creative minds behind YouTube (Google) have done something pretty amazing.
If you haven’t watched the addictive-ness that is Nyan Cat, go ahead and do that real quick. Ok, are you back? Now that you’ve witnessed that… did you notice anything different about the playback bar? Maybe this will help you remember:
Now, I’m sure the people behind this won’t do something like this to every video. However, when a video has close to 17 million views, it has to draw some San Bruno, CA attention. I hope that it’s not temporary, because I think it needs to stay. It’s just too great.
However, as long as it does last, we get to see the Nyan Cat farting out Rainbows and running in both space and now the playback bar.
Russian Kitten refuses to give up cigarette
Posted by Matt Fowler in Everything on May 13, 2011
I have a strong love for Russia, and this just makes me love them that much more.
Apparently, this kitten got ahold of a cigarette, and well, from what you’ll see from the video, doesn’t intend to give it up. Quite hilarious!
The nice people decided to take down the video. Sorry, not a lot I can do.
Some of the comments are just as funny:
“I CAN QUIT ANYTIME I WANT” by 777Skeptic
“I recall Rod Stewart once saying, “In France, even the dog’s smoke.” But Russia is not France” by robcat2075
If you comment on the video after seeing it here, you should definitely mention this site. You don’t have too obviously, but it’s a nice gesture.

Updates on the Posterous confusion:
I am using Posterous now to upload pictures, videos, etc to my blog (in hopefully, what I consider, to be much faster than the traditional way) and so far everything is working out great. You email whatever it is you want posted, and away it goes. You can then set up whether or not you want people to be notified via Twitter, Facebook, along with many other social networking sites. The whole idea is a great concept, amazing idea, and really handy.
Except one thing: I’m an idiot. On my Posterous account (Along with Twitter & YouTube) you will see where I uploaded a video, sent via email to my posterous personalized email address. Everything went right, Twitter was notified. YouTube uploaded the video. So why didn’t it show up on my blog? Just like I said before, I’m an idiot. You can even figure out what I’m talking about by just watching my video.
In order to allow Posterous to post anything on my blog, I had to create a username and password that only they knew to get into here. Well, it doesn’t do much good when their role is at Contributor. That is where I made my big mistake. No wonder anything I tried to post never would make it here. The role has now been set as Author, so Posterous should will now be able too post whatever I see fit to my blog. Hurray!
For those of you using WordPress and made the same silly mistake I did, maybe you should remember this:
- Administrator – Somebody who has access to all the administration features
- Editor – Somebody who can publish posts, manage posts as well as manage other people’s posts, etc.
- Author – Somebody who can publish and manage their own post
- Contributor – Somebody who can write and manage their posts but not publish posts
- Subscriber – Somebody who can read comments/comment/receive news letters, etc.
Ah, life.
Kid’s Show – Episode 2 – “Bubbles Likes to Dance”

Freshly uploaded, for your viewing pleasure, “Kid’s Show – Episode 2 – Bubbles Likes to Dance“.
Watch it now on YouTube: (Available in HD)
Episode 2: Bubbles Likes to Dance
And if you are completely confused, it’s probably because you never watched the first episode. Making a little bit more sense now?
Well, then let me try and explain (for those of you either curious or still not getting what all this madness is):
Basically, Kid’s Show, [which started out "A Kid's Show" but then the A was dropped after the release of the second episode] was an attempt to defeat & mutilate boredom. In other words, I sat down one day with a webcam on (with some effects on to make everything distorted) and starting improvising if I was hosting a slightly strange children’s show. The first episode talked very little about history — that Benjamin Franklin was overweight — and that Children should never attempt to eat a pair of keys, and should only be performed by “trained professionals”.
Bubbles himself is a strange character, played by me (obviously), he’s very easily amused, and is definitely most known for his odd looks at the camera, along with Grunts of Pure Happiness. (see Episode 2 to see why that is in bold) Whether or not he’ll help “the children” become better adults, we’ll never know, but for now he definitely is keeping them (and everybody else) amused.
Whether or not the show is actually kid friendly is your own judgment, as of episodes 1 & 2, there have been no cursing or sexual references, — with that being said; so far the show is clean. But that does not mean anything. The actual directed audience for this little thing I’ve started is unknown, I guess you could say I just feel whoever wants to watch it — should watch it.
The second episode ran off from the very very slightly educational part of the show and introduced a new idea to “Kid’s Show” — Music. Bubbles now has his own interactive music set up that has millions of different sounds and loops to add to the show. (cough Garageband cough)
The greatest thing about this show so far is that both episodes have been totally made up on the spot. The light to signal recording went on, and the crazy happened. None of it was rehearsed, or anything , just total improv. I love it!
Sound like something you’d like? Or at least want to see why I’ve put this much efffort writing about it? Then what are you waiting for!!

YouTube Hint: Turn Every Video to High Quality
Posted by Matt Fowler in Uncategorized on November 19, 2008
Ever been watching a video, that you just didn’t feel utilized your Sound Card well enough? Or maybe you thought the picture was off, and could be more vivid, radiant, etc?
Well, then I have found the perfect trick for you! I use this trick because I like for my surround sound (that I paid an amount we won’t speak of) to work for EVERYTHING I do that involves sound. Why should the internet cripple that ability? Or at least YouTube?
Some videos already have the “Switch to High Quality” feature. If they do, that’s awesome! Then you don’t have to use this trick at all! You just click on it, and there you go.
BUT, since most videos on YouTube do not have that link below them, here is what you do to get it regardless:
At the end of your video URL, for example we are going to use the Hasselhoff video I mentioned in the last post. It looks something like this [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PJQVlVHsFF8] correct? Well, at the very end of your URL, tag “&fmt=18″ (minus the quotes) at the end of it. Then go to that URL and you’ll noticed that at the bottom of your video it will now say “Switch to Normal Quality”, assuring you that your video is now in High Quality mode. Isn’t that awesome!
IE: Your URL should now look like this: [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PJQVlVHsFF8&fmt=18]

Q. Will this work for every Operating System?
A. I don’t see why not, I can’t guarantee mobile operating systems — but Mac and Windows should all perform the same.
Q. Same question – but what about browsers?
A. I would definitely say you need a newer browser to do the high quality, but I guess as long as you have a quick computer, a decent sound system, a decent graphics card, then there should not be an issue on what Browser you use or what version.
Q. Why hasn’t YouTube made this an “every” video feature?
A. Wish I knew. But, at least its a possibility now, and I’m sure in the near feature it will be a permanent option. Anything related to technology is growing so fast. I’m proud to say I’ve seen some of the very many technological milestones in my life.

Got it? Good! It’s a handy little trick I found out that has done me a world of good. Now I have to work on a trick for MySpace Videos…

I am not going to promise that I’ll update it all the time, but I am going to start putting up random videos of myself either ranting, reviewing something, or just me being me.
Also,
